3D Printer Orientation & Certification

  • Discover Burien Makerspace 611 SW 152nd Street (lower) Burien, WA, 98166 United States (map)

Filament 3D printing is an additive manufacturing process that is excellent for light duty parts and custom decorative elements. It is an excellent second step in the prototyping process and a great way to easily machine complex parts that are impossible on other machines. Our Basic Orientation gets you up and running on this technology with ease.

In this 2-hour hands-on orientation you will learn the basic operations of both resin and filament printers and the relevant software to bring your ideas into the real world. We’ll show you how to prepare your 3D model for printing, set up the printer and choose materials, and what red flags to watch out for so your parts come out successfully. You will finish this class prepared to independently run the filament 3D printer smoothly and safely.

There are no prerequisites for this orientation. This orientation clears you for independent access to our Filament and resin 3D printers.
